Mersham Sports Club

Mersham Sports Club is based at Flood Street on the outskirts of Mersham, near Ashford. Established in 1949, the community club supports several sporting sections, including football and cricket, alongside archery.

Following a busy season, the club’s natural turf had reached an important stage in its maintenance programme. The playing surface required aeration to address compaction caused by regular use and support its recovery between seasons.

Bourne Sport completed a Verti-Drain treatment across the playing surface using a machine operated by the New Holland Boomer 54D compact tractor.

The treatment created channels through the soil profile, helping to relieve compaction and improve the movement of air and water around the grass roots. This supports healthier turf growth while preparing the surface for the next period of use.
